Chocolate Almond Power Ball Recipe

If you know me, you know that power balls are my go-to snack. I love making them for myself, as a surprise for yogis & for events! They’re great for before or after a workout, or whenever you’re feeling a little peckish. They’re super easy to make & even though the rolling process can seem tedious, to me it can feel quite meditative.

This recipe is so forgiving & you can experiment with your favourite nuts, butters & seeds!

Chocolate Almond Power Balls

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup raw almonds

  • 3/4 cup raw cashews

  • 2 cups pitted dates

  • 2 tbsp cocoa or cacao powder (cacao will be less sweet)

  • 2 tbsp hemp seeds

  • 1/4 cup almond butter

  • 2 tbsp melted coconut oil

Instructions:

  1. Grind almonds & cashews in food processor. I like to keep a bit of texture to mine so grind them until I see mostly fine chunks. Toss into a large bowl.

  2. Pop dates into the microwave for 30-ish seconds until warm & soft, then pulse in food processor until they form a relatively smooth ball. Add to the bowl! *Hot Tip: I always grind the nuts before the dates so I don’t have to wash the processor between use!*

  3. Add all remaining ingredients & mix well! I begin mixing with a large spoon & then get my hands in there to make sure it’s all incorporated.

  4. Begin to roll up the mixture by hand into your desired snack size! I usually roll mine to about 1” diameter & get about 20 balls from this recipe.

  5. Make sure to store in the fridge or freezer & enjoy!
